AMS G Narayanamma Pulla Reddy Respite Home for Adult Mentally Challenged Girls

The parents of Mentally Challenged Adult Girls are often worried about the future of their wards.  In order to provide relief to the parents and provide a secure home for their wards, the Dugabai Deshmukh Vocational Training Centre for Handicapped in collaboration with G.Pulla Reddy Trust established the Respite Home in 1999 at Kurnool.

Sh G. Pulla Reddy, Chairman, GPR Charities Trust provided accommodation and other amenities for starting a Home at Kurnool within the premises of GPR, Eng. College, Kurnool. Subsequently on a land of 1.5 acres donated by GPR Charities Trust a permanent building with all the facilities had been constructed in ’06 under the management of GPR Charities Trust. Initially Sri G.Pulla Reddy garu helped in providing necessary financial help. He also constructed a building with all facilities and from 2006 onwards the home is located in this building. From 2007 the Home is receiving grant – in – aid from National Trust for Mentally Challenged. The inmates are provided with academic as well as vocational training. At present 25 girls are staying in the home.  Day Care students are also admitted.
